Grammy® award-winner, Earl Wild, in a magnificent new recording of all 21 Chopin Nocturnes. Stylish and impassioned.
Beauty and grandeur. Extraordinary use of the pedal.
French Diapason, Aug. 2000
This recording of Chopin's Nocturnes is new (made in 1996, when the pianist was 81). Wild's performances are gorgeous, full of color and fantasy. What makes them particularly special is the delicacy of the playing. His tone captures the cool, silver glow of moonlight better than many of the better-known keyboard wizards who have recorded this music for posterity. The recording quality is exceptional; the airy, limpid atmosphere perfectly suits the pianist's soft-grained interpretative style. Very warmly recommended.

N2K, Sep. 1998
To these ears it is the finest collection of the complete Nocturnes ever recorded - and that takes in such hallowed figures as Arthur Rubinstein and Guiomar Novaes. The instrument cannot be played more perfectly than it is here. Earl Wild today stands alone as the Last Romantic.
Harold C. Schonberg, FI, Jul. 1998
The technique has always been there for Earl Wild - the imagination is obvious here. His playing is warm, gently expressive and sweetly nuanced.
Fanfare Magazine, Apr. 1998
Records like this one will stand for a long time as the best you can get. No other complete set is as satisfying as this one.
